Wednesday Night Fightback 3: ULEZ, LTNs… free to drive?

Traffic reduction at what price?

In our third Wednesday Night Fightback, Michael Taylor and William Clouston discuss traffic reduction schemes.

Low emission zones, 15-minute cities and low traffic neighbourhoods are proliferating in towns and cities across the UK, frequently without any consultation.

William and Michael discuss the pros and cons – will these initiatives bring cleaner air, healthier lifestyles and foster a sense of community? Or will they increase inequality, entrench social segregation and simply displace traffic elsewhere?

  • The UK needs a codified written constitution and become eventually a Federal Republic this will control our politicians

  • After slowly graduating towards the SDP because of it’s apparently honest straight-talking about the country’s problems I’m very disappointed to hear Mr Clouson spout the conspiracy theorists’ lie that 15-minute cities are designed to prevent people from travelling. I challenge him to provide one example of any proposal to prevent anyone from travelling anywhere. As he should know, it’s just needless personal car usage which is being targetted, nobody will be prevented from using public transport, bicycle, or their feet to travel anywhere they like. Please be more careful with your language.
