Maya joined the SDP in 2021 and stood for Parliament in 2024 in the Waveney Valley constituency. She is a local town councillor, has served as a school governor and on various organisations in the Arts and Heritage sectors.
Much of her career has been in broadcast technology where she ran a company in London for many years, before setting up a management consultancy specialising in technology strategy and projects.
Originally from London, Maya has West Country and Polish ancestry and has lived and worked abroad for many years.
Maya is an active musician and often to be found in sessions around East Anglia.
