Tim O’Rourke

Tim attended Leeds University where he was awarded a degree in Electrical Engineering. He subsequently joined GEC working on Power Station design and spent a year in Hong Kong working on Castle Peak Power Station. Tim later worked on projects in India and China before switching to Rail becoming project manager for a locomotive contract in South Africa. After returning to the Power industry he then took up a business manager and subsequently Chief Information officer role at BNFL/Sellafield/NDA. He retired in 2019.

Tim has been an SDP member since 2018 and has held regional party roles of DNO and Secretary. He was heavily involved in the organisation of the 2022 Manchester Conference and the By Election in Stretford and Urmston.

Tim is married and has a daughter and son both now adult. He lives in Cheshire and is a keen musician having played guitar in a band for over 30 years. He is a keen martial artist and karate instructor holding the rank of 5th Dan. He also loves skiing and Formula 1.
