STEVE GARDNER ANNOUNCED AS SDP CANDIDATE FOR UXBRIDGE & SOUTH RUISLIP BY-ELECTION

Steve Gardner

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) today announces that their candidate for the Uxbridge & South Ruislip by-election will be local man and Gulf War Veteran Steve Gardner.

Steve has lived in the area for over 25 years and is well known to residents through his work with local charities and his commitment to British Army veterans suffering from mental health issues.

Giving his reasons for his candidature, Steve Gardner says:

“Politicians should work for the people.  It’s as simple as that.  I believe the UK isn’t broken but the system is. I’m standing for the SDP because we hold values that I believe the British people are looking for from their next government — a sound economy, a socially fair society and safe communities.”

The main issues Steve will be campaigning on are:

  1. Fighting the ULEZ extension – a stealth tax to make money that will have little environmental impact.
  2. Fighting crime through improved pro-active policing.
  3. Affordable housing, prioritising local residents.

William Clouston, Leader of the SDP commented:

We’re very proud to have such a strong local candidate as Steve Gardner to fight this important by-election. Steve typifies all that is positive in our party. He’s a local man, a long-standing SDP member – ex-British Army – who is working hard for his community and for his country.  We look forward to the campaign.”

Editor’s Note:

The Social Democratic Party, founded in 1981, is a patriotic, economically left- leaning, and culturally traditional political party. Our flagship ‘Social Market’ economic model views the private sector and the public sector not as opponents but as complementary parts of the same society. We believe that individualism has over-stepped. Instead, we focus on what unites and brings society together at the level of the family, community and the nation.
