Wednesday Night Fightback 14: Fixing our broken labour market

The UK has a labour shortage while 5.3m are on out-of-work benefits - how did we get here and what can be done?

In this episode, Michael Taylor and William Clouston discuss the scandalous state of our labour market.

While the UK suffers a serious labour shortage across multiple sectors, 5.3 million citizens are receiving out-of-work benefits.

Instead of addressing this through long-term measures, such as welfare and healthcare reform coupled with investment in training, our leaders repeatedly take the quick fix of immigration.

William and Michael discuss the causes and possible solutions, arguing that importing more and more people is just storing up problems for the future.
