  • Thanks for this SDP, Thomas is a sane voice in Europe. However, you should also talk to Thomas about MMT. The SDP’s current economic policies are pretty much aligned with the daft Stability and Growth pact which has achieved precisely the opposite (instability and no growth) for the EU.

    >>> “setting a target for average public sector deficits across the cycle of 2.5% to 3% of GDP.” This is straight out of Article 123 of the treaties.

    Read ‘Reclaiming the State’, or re-read it if you’ve forgotten. Please. We need someone to start the move away from the obsessive fear of using the Government-issued currency to improve the lives of everyone.
